Second TP campaign started for CVOW

Lifting Transition Piece from a feeder barge with the HC750

After the summer months were used to install the remaining monopiles on the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, DEME restarted transition piece (TP) installation activities. Over the comming months, the remainder of the 176 TP's will be installed.

For this, DEME uses the HeaveChief 750. It's used for both feederlifing the components from supply vessel, as well as installation of the TP's onto the monopile. While the crane hook of the installation vessel Orion is moving up and down, the HC750 ensures the TP is kept position still above the MP. This way, the installation of the TP onto the MP can be done in a more controlled manner, and in harsher weather conditions.
