Ampelmann operations tested the 1st in the world balanced Walk-2-Work gangway offshore this October. The system performed as desired and passed its test perfectly. It’s proof that our technology is ready for offshore conditions, and that a fully balanced gangway can offer the same performance as a standard gangway, while using significantly less power and operates with a much safer passive support.

The use of the SQ balanced heave compensation technology now allows this gangway manufacturer to build their larger gangways lighter and fully electric, instead of the heavier diesel guzzlers that are out there now. This in turn allows ship builders to fit their faster and lighter boats with the larger W2W gangways which were out of reach up to now. That means they can safely work in heavier seas and reach further and larger landing targets.

Those larger gangway versions, using our same technology are about to be commissioned by Ampelmann as well.
